In this image, Starkweather's circles -- each made up of grey, black,
and white dots and pinpricks into the Mylar -- represent the placement
of bike locks in downtown San Francisco. Hughen references the omnipresent
grid that
dominates the environment of downtown: buildings, windows, sidewalks,
bricks, and streets.
