This and the two works that follow are from a series I created from 1997 - 2001 of black and white wood panel works. Each work consists of several layers of gesso and pencil on wood panel, and each layer is sanded so that layers of pencil are visible below. I used architectural and engineering templates to create repeated geometric shapes.
